Day 1 – Arrival & First Jungle Trek
Start your adventure with a relaxing breakfast before meeting your local guide between
9:00 AM and noon. Begin with a gentle boat ride along the river, setting
the mood for the jungle ahead.
Hike through rubber plantations until you reach the edge of Gunung Leuser National Park,
where the real forest begins. Keep your eyes open for semi-wild orangutans, long-tailed
macaques, pig-tailed macaques, and Thomas Leaf Monkeys.
Take a break with tropical fruits before continuing to your first campsite, located either
by a serene river or near a picturesque waterfall.
In the evening, enjoy a home-cooked jungle dinner, relax by the campfire, and sleep in your
tent under the sounds of the rainforest.
Day 2 – Deep Jungle Trek
Wake up to the sounds of the rainforest and enjoy a fresh breakfast at the campsite.
Set out on a 3-hour trek deeper into the forest, spotting wildlife along the way.
Lunch is served surrounded by lush greenery. Afterward, trek another 3 hours to your second
campsite, where you can swim in the river or under a waterfall.
End the day with a hearty dinner, stories from your guide, and a peaceful night’s sleep
in your tent, enveloped by nature.
Day 3 – Wildlife Exploration
After breakfast, embark on a 4–6 hour trek, discovering the park’s incredible
biodiversity. Look out for all 8 monkey species, including Sumatran Orangutans,
Long-tailed and Pig-tailed Macaques, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, Silver Leaf Monkeys, Siamangs,
Slow Lorises, and White-handed Gibbons.
Birdwatchers may spot the Great Argus pheasant or a Hornbill soaring overhead.
Relax at the third campsite with a warm dinner under the stars, listening to the soothing
sounds of nearby waterfalls.
Day 4 – Hidden Trails & Jungle Secrets
Begin the morning exploring hidden jungle trails, streams, and secret waterfalls.
Learn about traditional jungle medicine from your guide.
Set up your tents at the final campsite, enjoy a warm cup of tea, and take in the peaceful
jungle atmosphere. Optional night walks allow you to spot nocturnal wildlife for one last
jungle adventure.
Day 5 – Final Trek & River Tubing
Enjoy your final breakfast in the heart of the forest before a morning trek tailored
to your pace. Take in the sights, sounds, and wildlife one last time.
After lunch, experience a thrilling tubing ride down the Bohorok River (Jungle Taxi),
floating past lush jungle scenery back to Bukit Lawang.
