4-Day Jungle Trek – Gunung Leuser National Park
Ready to explore the heart of the Sumatran jungle and encounter unique wildlife? This 4-day adventure immerses you in the incredible biodiversity of Gunung Leuser National Park, home to 8 primate species. You’ll camp for two nights in the
wild—one by a peaceful river, the other near a serene waterfall—and finish with a
fun jungle tubing experience on the Bohorok River.

Day 1 – Arrival & Jungle Introduction
- Enjoy a relaxing breakfast before your guide picks you up between 9:00 AM and noon.
- Begin with a gentle river boat ride, followed by a hike through rubber plantations to the edge of the National Park.
- Enter the jungle and watch for semi-wild orangutans, macaques, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, and Monitor Lizards.
- Take a fruit break before heading deeper into the jungle toward your campsite.
- Arrive around 4:00 PM at your riverside or waterfall campsite. Relax, swim, and enjoy a local dinner prepared by your guide.
- Spend the evening around the campfire, play games, or share stories before sleeping in a jungle tent.
Day 2 – Deep Jungle Trek
- Wake to the sounds of the rainforest and enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast.
- Trek 3 hours deeper into the forest, spotting wildlife along the way.
- Enjoy lunch surrounded by lush greenery.
- Continue for another 3 hours to your second campsite, with time to swim in the river or beneath a waterfall.
- Evening campfire dinner and stories under the stars, followed by rest in your jungle tent.
Day 3 – Wildlife Exploration
- Start the day with a warm breakfast at your campsite.
- Trek for 4–6 hours, spotting all 8 monkey species in the park, including Sumatran Orangutans, macaques, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, Siamangs, Slow Lorises, and White-handed Gibbons.
- Birdwatchers may also spot Great Argus pheasants or Hornbills.
- Enjoy tropical fruits and lunch in the heart of the jungle.
- Spend your last night in the jungle, soaking in the sights and sounds of the rainforest.
Day 4 – Jungle Trek & River Tubing
- After breakfast, trek at your own pace with your guide, enjoying the jungle one last time.
- Have lunch in the forest before your final adventure: tubing down the Bohorok River on a traditional Jungle Taxi.
- Return to Bukit Lawang with unforgettable memories and a deeper connection to nature.
