Things to Check Before Renting a Car in Bali
Renting a car is a great way to travel with comfort and flexibility, but it’s important to do a quick check before driving off. Here are the key things you should always check before renting :
Exterior & Interior Condition
Walk around the car and check for scratches, dents, or damages. Don’t forget to look inside for stains or broken parts. Take photos if needed.
Tires & Lights
Make sure the tires are in good condition and properly inflated. Test the headlights, brake lights, and turn signals.
Fuel Level
Confirm how much fuel is in the tank and the company’s fuel policy (full-to-full or same level return).
Brakes & AC
Do a quick test of the brakes and check if the air conditioning works properly — especially important in hot destinations.
Documents
Make sure the car has valid copies of its vehicle documents.
Emergency Tools
Look for a spare tire, jack, and basic tools. It’s also good to ask about roadside assistance.
Rental Agreement
Read the terms: mileage limits, deposit, and what’s covered in case of accidents.
